, Audi's Global Head of Sales and Marketing, Hildegard Wortmann, departed from the company on August 31. Porsche executive Marco Schubert will succeed Wortmann in this role.
In a statement released on August 30, Audi noted that Wortmann voluntarily left the company, and the two parties reached a "mutual agreement." Wortmann was the first female member of Audi's management board and also a member of the Volkswagen Group management board. Audi stated that Wortmann would step down from both of these significant positions.

After joining the Audi brand, Wortmann had been responsible for the brand's sales over the past five years. Under her leadership, Audi achieved a record sales figure of 1.9 million vehicles in 2023.
However, due to supply chain issues and a global decline in demand for electric vehicles, Audi's sales momentum has slowed this year. On July 25, Audi reported that global sales in the first half of the year fell by 8.2% year-over-year to 832,957 units, due to supply bottlenecks affecting production. Earlier this year, Audi was also forced to reduce production shifts due to severe flooding in southern Germany caused by heavy rains.
Since 2021, Schubert has been responsible for Porsche's European sales operations. Schubert has over 30 years of experience in the automotive industry, including 20 years at Audi, where he once headed Audi's operations in China. Prior to that, Schubert also worked at Mercedes-Benz.
Currently, Audi is also updating its product lineup and replacing core models, including the A4, the second-best-selling mid-size luxury car in the European market. According to Audi's latest naming convention, the new A5 will replace the A4.
